I am a retired academic with a PhD in Physical Chemistry and an MA in English Literature. Just before retirement in 2011 I gave the D H Lawrence birthday lecture in Eastwood and was invited by the British Council to speak on air pollution at the Café Scientifique in Madrid.
I spent the late seventies and eighties in Africa and now live in Cornwall where my wife was a GP. We have two sons who are in in Bangkok and Tokyo.
I enjoy sailing dinghies and surfing.
The Pathways to Revenge Series is a contemporary version of the Homeric Cycle: Golden Boy, Sofiya, Molot, Therese, Tros, Kleo, Anchises Smith and Nomea.
I am a keen reader, enjoying novels (espionage, war, crime, love, romance), history, economics and philosophy. One of my favourite books is Lawrence Durell’s ‘Alexandria Quartet’ but I'm also a fan of George Martin, Jo Nesbo, Anita Shreve and Alan Furst.
